Why is increasing your pay integral to intelligence? At a certain level of pay, you have enough money to provide. Thereâs plenty of people who could make more money but want to stay at their comfort level so they can focus on things that arenât tied to money. That doesnât mean theyâre not intelligent.

Or you could get the hell out of the rat race, live simply and spend your time doing stuff you love and enjoy. I was a top sales person, changed jobs every few years, all the perks and plenty of bonus and good basic. But it was stressful and shallow, it gives me far greater satisfaction and joy to grow my own food and make something from it to feed myself and my loved ones. To be outside in nature when everyone else is inside on a laptop on a Wednesday afternoon. To be the absolute master of my life, answerable to no one but myself and god, and to never touch another excel spreadsheet or do another sales forecast as long as I live.

This doesn't feel like advice for the every man/woman. Most people don't work in jobs that allow salary increases in such short periods, or even offer leverage to negotiate more pay. I feel like these people operate in hyper competitive industries where higher input equates to higher output......no judgment, just don't think most blue collar jobs aren't setup that way.

I feel like I'm ignorant to what the lessons are/what mistakes Im making, even when it's plainly obvious to others. I feel oblivious to it sometimes. How do I find introspection through reflection if I'm unable to pinpoint these mistakes and failures in the moment? And if, sometimes, I do notice the mistakes, how do I fully change and learn from them? Because sometimes when in the moment and without time to think things through, when emotional, I tend to make the same mistake even though I knew it would only create more problems. Because I didnt recall the lesson I learned when I needed it. Then i smack myself in the face after the fact. How do I figure that out?

The issue is that most people will struggle to make big positive work related changes in their lives, especially when they have a revenue that they are heavily reliant upon to meet basic needs... Because the chance that you will screw things up is likely higher than the chance you will improve them.
