The simplicity of food is so underrated, but when we ask people, what their comfort food is, it's most of the time some simple ingredients, which then make a great dish.
Every time I travel, I can't wait to eat good fresh German bread with butter, my mom's vegetables soup or my dad's Russian pancakes. What is your favourite simple comfort food?🤗

I wouldn't call it bland, I would call it "well seasoned but more focused on the taste of the ingredients than the seasoning." The tastes in european quisine are just a bit less loaded with oils and spices, but rather herbs with the taste of the vegetables or the carbohydrates that are served along - both good in their own way!

The thing though, is those foods aren't really bland at all. Vegetables grown with love in gardens and such are SO flavourful. I know so many people who HATE fresh tomatoes, because all they've ever eaten were supermarket/grocery store tomatoes which are watery and lacking in flavour side by side with garden tomato. Cucumbers, beans, carots, potatoes etc, all taste so different grown in a garden vs mass produced. Your foods look incredible. <3

Another European living in Korea here (and UK, home of bland food lol). The thing I miss a lot is simple food that tastes like it comes directly from the ground (raw or whole veg/salad, seedy or grainy things, etc). I guess such foods can be found in Korea, but feels less common. Your Danish plate looks so delicious and is the epitome of what I love, haha :)

I have to agree! I love eating dishes from around the world and consider my palate to be pretty diverse but lately I have just been craving simple western food like a meat/grilled fish and steamed vegetables with maybe a white sauce or even just some butter.
It could be that my stomach is sensitive or just wanting something simple and nourishing idk.
Sometimes it's just what hits the spot and is simple to make and just super comforting.

same. I love flavourful food once a week esp during weekends but i can't have it everyday. I find it very overwhelming. I love having not bland but light and very simply seasoned foods as my daily. plain salt and pepper and maybe a tiny dash of ginger and garlic is my comfort zone. having too heavy foods everyday makes me feel very lethargic and stinky.

I had really high expectations for korean food since everyone says it's so good... But then I spent one month and a half in korea and everything was either a mix of a lot of flavours or too spicy to feel any flavour. 😅 For me in general the food felt too "heavy" and I spent a lot of days craving for my portuguese foo
