So, the Wednesday dance was planned. Jenna Ortega said in an interview that she was trusted by Tim Burton to create the dance on her own, which she did by cramming the night before. She was completely sleep deprived, as she forgot until the night before filming the dance scene, that she was supposed make it. She watched video after video of young ppl dancing to certain genres & managed to pull out the iconic dance we know today.
Bonus fact: Jenna Ortega came up with the idea to never blink on screen even once during the entire run of the show. She didn't tell anyone until she was asked why all of her takes after a certain point were creepier than the early ones.
