I’m no expert but that fan behind that heater is causing the burner to not burn properly.
It should be an almost complete blue flame. Hope ya got plenty of gas and ventilation.
Stay warm, stay safe.

Yellow flames are a no no.
They call them blue flame heaters for a reason.

Caution: when using rubber hoses for propane get a filter for the heater because there is oils in the hose that will plug up the pilot light mechanism and then you have to replace it.

Careful changing the way the flame burns with the air blowing. It won't produce carbon monoxide unless you interrupt complete combustion. You can move the heat but be careful not to "dance" those flames. I love these heaters. They add a lot of moisture to the air in the winter which is good.

Old school wood stove with bricks in them got me through whole war in Bosnia, plenty of wood luckilly.
Heating and cooking as most days we only had electricity for 3-4 days per MONTH, and 5 years like that.
Hand made candles and car batteries for light if you had a car or money for gas.
We had oil cups with beer cap and whick through hole in middle.
80%water,.bit of oil on top and candle ready.
If you had propane tank you were rich.

You know the ones with the glowing bricks use a fourth of the lp and put out way more heat without the fan

2 things, that tank needs to be outside as there is a check valve on the tank for heat expansion so a full tank will bleed.off propane, BOOM!!
Secondly you need a carbon monoxide detector or sufficient ventilation, you can nod off and never wake up. Cheers.

A friend and I took an unused sauna heater from my moms house and put it in his garage. Put a box fan on it like you have done and that thing melted the snow a good 9 feet all the way around the garage generally if you were in working you would have to open up the overhead door and cool it down a bit. It was electric. I hope you have some carbon monoxide detectors…!

Best thing is it doesn't need electricity, so power goes off, you don't get cold ❄️🥶

This is actually the best form of heating for a home. 100% of the heat goes into heating the room. Were I to build a new house, this is the kind of heat I'd use.

I have the same one (not the big one). I have a big tank outside for it. It will heat up my whole 800 sq ft home on the lowest setting. I put a small, skinny set of 2 fans at the top of the doorway to the kitchen and bedroom and it will send the warm air from the ceiling area into there. It has been a lifesaver during the winter months, specially when power was out for 3 days cuz of Helene.

when my furnace went out wanted $12,000 for a new propane furnace...l figured it's just burning propane so l got a couple of big ones like yours and for 600 bucks vs. $12k.

Down south they have wall mounted heaters that look just like that so you can heat room to room. I guess they hook into the houses gas lines.

I have a dynaglo natural gas ceramic heater and usually keep it on a setting of 1 or 2. It keeps my unisulated 3 stall garage at a nice 60 degrees in freezing temps. Don't want it any warmer than that for working in.
