Every time Campi Flegrei comes up I feel like I should start prepping, and I live in Canada. Sometimes I wish I didn't know so much history.

Thanks Silki! Just as a point of interest, you might check out the Socorro Magma Body in New Mexico, USA. It’s considered to be the next most likely volcano to erupt in this state. Most people know about the Valles Caldera super volcano in the northern part of our state but geologists think that the Socorro Magma Body is the most likely to erupt next.

I think they should evacuate the best they can, so many an hour to keep it flowing smoothly.
They also should have a plan already.
Who knows what's around rhe corner.
Thankyou Silky ❤

They need to leave! Of their own accord. It seems patently obvious that the government is only thinking of their pockets.

Im a humble person and i think its you people should listen to. What im understand from historic eruption the time is yesterday to leave that area. As others i didnt see Campi flegfrei as a threat than reasently. And i live 2000km from it. I was routing for Katla at Iceland. I hope Katla stay calm for some years.

The eruption is going to be the worst yet once the magma is able to get through the Tuff and more specifically, ignimbrite cap-rock.😐

Why are there still people there?

I understand it is hard to evacuate millions of people but this situation is a no-brained. Something really bad is going to happen. People will die a horrible death. What other incentives do they need to leave? And there has been plenty of time to evacuate!

If fisherman are raising their nets to find cooked fish and the smell of sulfur keeps getting stronger, you don’t have to have watched too many disaster movies to figure out what happens next?!

There's no money in evacuations , meaning the government won't do anything until it's actually happening. You are on your own act accordingly

I would say if there are active new changes at the surface like substantial ground cracking and increased gas and new fumerole or geyser activity that’s a good time to evacuate.

Seismic activity has massively reduced. But let's wait for the spring tides ...
