Love this idea but it makes me wish gojo's relationship with the students was shown better throughout the series, that way this could hit on an emotional level. We seen him interact with and shape the lives and minds of yuji and yuta but that still leaves maki and hikari (in terms of the currently alive and active heavy hitters) who was also his students but didnt interact with him much onscreen and dont seem to have any particular attachment to him.

I’ve always been under this mindset. I feel like people always take the literal 1V1 victory as set and stone nature, that the winner of the fight would prove whose ideals were better. But we never saw Gojo training to be the strongest, hell, half the things the dude pulled out vs Sukuna were firsts for him or things he only did as a grade schooler. Sukuna had years of mastery and honing his skills, but what Gojo really honed was his confidence in his students to be even better than he was, and people he could trust to keep the future safe from people hellbent on their own beliefs in what is Subjectively right vs what is Objectively right.

I feel like gege is drawing a parallel between geto's question to gojo and the battle he had with sukuna-- like that sukuna embodied the way gojo used to only rely on his own power and that this ideology will eventually lose, even if sukuna wins the fight, just like you said, gojo's enlightenment is allowing others' strength fill the gaps he has

I love this interpretation. Gojo didn't die, he decentralized. His influence is reminiscent of the Sage of Six Paths from Naruto and the entities that I believe are responsible for the creation of Devil Fruits in One Piece.
I suppose this answers Geto's question from years ago: he was not the strongest because he was Satoru Gojo, he was Satoru Gojo because he was the strongest. And as aspects of that strength persist in his students, so too does his will/spirit persist.
Yuta, the cursed energy.
Yuji, the black flash.
Hakari, the divine favor.
Megumi, the cursed technique.
Maki, the hands.
Ino, the comic relief.
Gojo was a 10/10 in every category, but his students have developed each of their inheritances to 11. One could argue Sukuna's battle with Gojo isn't only still going, but that it didn't truly start until Gojo's body went down
