For those that don't know, that's an hour climb up an hour climb down, under tension, the tower sways, it gives, moves, flexes so it doesn't snap ... once down you're exhausted.... in Fl Dana does 2 towers a day 2 days a week ... for Bulbs, wiring and transmitter replacement he's 32, says by 40 he won't physically be able to make the climb .. unless one a day twice a week ...MAYBE ...but he's saving, investing, he makes alot of money ... I tried climbing with him once .. nope, nada, no thx ... half way a gust moved me, I'm 230 yeah .... no ... ๐๐

In 86 I worked electrical and was voluntold to do some bulb changes at the Boston U field on 125โ towers. The sway was around 12โ back and forth at the top so I lasted about three bulbs and gave up! Funny how none of the rest of the crew would even attempt it. What did I know as a twenty four year old?! Later in the cable industry they at least paid you hazard pay! Any way as long as those guy wires are very taut it shouldnโt be a problem for a seasoned climber, but these days ainโt no days to be doing that kinda work for me no thanks!

Climbing that would be my second fear. Number one fear would be dropping the bulb ๐ก and having to make that climb twice.
