Thankfully after moving to England, I have been able to enjoy my hobby a lot more thanks to the laws and incentives here promoting bus preservation.
But at time, I do wish that we Singaporeans could have the same experience of going back in time to our childhood on familiar roads, which is sadly impossible due to Singapore's laws.

The LTA is holding our views of heavy vehicle preservation back due to a strict law, that most of them would end up in static display, or reduced to scrap.

I think its actually doable to export the bus to overseas given the recent openness in purchasing /donating these decommissioned buses for a 2nd lease of life. Its just that there isnt someone fully commited to do it yet

It ain't just the draconian laws that bar the preservation of buses, the introduction of newer hybrids and electric buses are a means of garnering political support from locals by showing off a shiny, modern bus which is far from perfect. It sucks how much SG always tries to portray a perfect image of itself and so history is lost to time forever. RIP Olympians, Hispanos, Scanias and Leylands.

Currently in the midst of preserving an SMRT O405 Hispano Carrocera through Roblox because LTA wont :p
its so... weird though, I wonder if LTA will consider virtual preservation as I understand space may be an issue.
though, ultimately i believe LTA will focus on 'practicality' and 'economics', so this idea may not be likely.

When I sleep, I dream of myself sitting at the front of a Volvo Olympian listening to the old bus thunder up and down the streets, just like my younger days. They were my happiest days. But money waits for no buses. And happiness is the bus you always seem to miss by a few seconds.
