AMEN IVE BEEN RUNNING MY COMPANY FOR 32 years, my longest employee just had his 3 year work anniversary
So I had to bless him.
I gave him a 1.65 raise
He’s now making 9.00
Man I just bought my 3rd 2024 GMC SIERRA had to get my 14 yr old daughter one! Seriously a blessing

my boss pays everyone in the company over scale as long as they can show up to work on time. once they are late 3 times they lose there extra money and go back down to scale.

or say, the company isn’t making any money.

Or my favorite is the cash flow VS calendar. What you do is front load the profit in the billing to this tax year, when the employee asks for a bonus say the jobs are not finished yet and tell you will get them back next year. Then next year, say the jobs didn’t make any money (because the profit billed the year before) and when they tell you that say “last year doesn’t count, we are talking about this year and we don’t make any money”

Any bonus system is ultimately gonna screw most of the employees. I used to work for a contractor that would hand out monthly cash “spiffs” of as much as $300. Annually, big bonuses would get handed out to “big winners”
However, the wages didn’t keep up with cost of living and health insurance premiums were eating up as much as 20% of gross wages (this was back in 2015 when that was outrageous)
The bonus system was just a shiny object to distract from the fact that the overall compensation was crap.

See the bonus program is a good idea if you actually reward them. Cuz even though you're paying them the bonus. You probably still netting in more productivity and profits consequently by motivating your employees to meet goals in a more efficient manner. You pay more money but you pay less than you actually earn by holding your employees to a standard and rewarding them for meeting/exceeding it.

Bonuses are great, but hardly obtainable in most circumstances. So just pay well and stop trying to get all 3. Also the bonus program is how you get new teeth when someone finally snaps. 😅

Yeah turns out when you’re in the industry for long enough you can walk out the door and find another job within a week or two. It’s the employers best interest to not pull stuff like this. BUT to be fair there’s not a lot of companies that spell out bonuses due to the odds of anything happening

I have worked for many different types of people the ones who have it are always looking for a way to cut you out of their profits or use you as theirs, subletting is worse someone taking part of your wage just because they passed on your number incentives are come in or you don't have a job .
