I partly wish they kept this just to get people to stop saying he doesn't have an arc, the most notable of details being that he will keep on fighting.
This is up there for me with his talk at Achilles's grave after the Legacy Homestead mission, pondering if and when they will ever win against the Templars, admitting he doesn't have the answer, then "I will miss you, old man, as I miss my mother," just solidifying further what their relationship was.

That was a truly powerful and moving monologue, why was this removed. It could of been a memorable and tear inducing ending to AC 3, much like The Parting Glass was for Black Flag. Very sad. Keep cutting content like this and AC games will become stale and lifeless...come on Ubisoft you're better than this. Thanks Master Assassin, what a wonderful way to start my day than with this video. The Kenway Legacy lives on.

I'm replaying AC3 now, and it hits different when I first played it.
During my first run I thought it was boring, that it was bad and not a suiting sequel. But over time while replaying AC3 made me see that it really wasn't as bad as I thought and I have so many realizations and what ifs.
In my opinion AC3 - when thought about it, ranks up there, not Ezio Trilogy tier but it's up there. It gave the followers of the franchise what we aspired for: gameplay in modern times, a glimpse of the philosophy of the Templar Order, deeper understanding of politics and such.
It's just that Connor's and Desmond's story were cut REALLY short in AC3.

Let me tell you something Connor, life is not a fairy tale and there are no happy endings. Damn till the end of the story Achilles' word still brings the weight, I guess it was with Shay that Achilles truly realized it all and tried stop Connor from becoming the past himself, this monologue definitely shows how Connor has grown, not the naive fighter we knew

To people who say Connor is Dumb. Listen to this, full version of this... The pauses are cut, in here, to make it short I think, but you can easily find the uncut version on YouTube.
And also listen to the E3 trailer monologue, where he says "They speak of liberty and justice. But for who?"
The man just understands war. He has far broader perspective than many realize.
He is anything, but Dumb...

Such an amazing character. Even with this being cut, it's how I thought he felt by the end....that's good character development.
