I still have the unpopular opinion that BVO was way too powerful but its power level was justified due to LCB tank builds running around at the time and BVO was the only LW build that could reasonably CQC and kill them.
As soon as LCB tank was kill, other builds would not be able to compete with it. But hey it is PLAYABLE and still a lot of fun to pull out time to time.

For me personally, what hurts the most about the Viento nerf is that the reload time nerf was so severe as to make it slower than a lot of popular weapons like Zimms, so it really punishes you if you canāt jump out of range during the reload, and it makes it so much harder to capitalize on stagger build up between clips.
As it stands, the only lightweight builds that are competitively viable now are pretty much all just different varieties of kites.

Hot take: the reload speed nerf wasn't actually that impactful. BVO is absurdly fast, so what you should be doing is disengaging or hiding behind cover for the reload time before quickly getting back in to dump another clip into the opponent. Obviously, most people didn't do this since pre-patch viento reloaded so fast you could survive staying in close range with a bigger build, so it was a nerf to people who played it in that way, but for the more "hit and run" style it doesn't really affect anything. On the other hand, the impact nerf is devastating for this playstyle, requiring the BVO user to make more hit-and-runs, greatly increasing the chance something goes wrong.

These things were nightmares to fight with my lightweight quad gat build simply because of their ACS buildup.
Usually I can kite and dip between mid-range and close-range against other cqc builds, but that's because they were, more often than not, slower than me.
BVOs not only kept up with me, but beat out my ACS buildup 9 times out of 10. I always found it funny how I can land full salvos from 4 gats, but still lose the ACS race against funny needle guns.

If only the firearm stat contributed something like 50% of accuracy or was a multiplier, then Basho arms would have been strictly melee weapon arms and other arms with better firearm stats could have seen more use in those days. It was something that always bothered me from a game design standpoint.

It kinda suck they nerf much of the weapons that makes BVOs the best, the most saddening moment was when Stun Guns got nerfed that shocked damage was lowered?! Like come on man thats what made them great for my BVO build! Not every weapon needed to be nerfed only the ones that really needed it. I mean with the Vientos and Stun Guns it made BVOs what they were suppose to be: to make it on par against dual Zimmermans and many others before the patch nerf.
I mean its only fair for Lightweight Builds to have at least some weapon stats advantages against certain builds that are more of a nuisance imo.
