Invincible Marshal: Louis Nicolas Davout

Davout worked diligently to justify Napoleon's trust in him and the honor and wealth he bestowed upon him. During the empire's major campaigns he proved to be one of the most capable generals in the army. At Austerlitz he resisted the main Russian attack on the right flank and thus played a critical role in the Emperor's victory; Have III in Auerstädt. He defeated the main Prussian army, twice the strength of the 1st Corps; He reached the battlefield in time to prevent a French disaster at Eylau; At Eckmühl he delayed Prince Charles' Austrian army until Napoleon brought aid and then participated in the defeat of the enemy; Wagram turned to the Austrian's left and took him off the field. As an administrator he performed equally well in the Duchy of Warsaw (1807–09), in Germany (1810–12), in Hamburg (1813–14), and as Minister of War during the Hundred Days. He was also one of the main organizers of the army that invaded Russia in 1812 and the army that Napoleon landed in Belgium in 1815. His troops were always the best trained, most disciplined and best equipped soldiers in the field. After passing Davout's men on their way to Niemen in 1812, General Armand-Augustin Caulaincourt wrote of them: "The men of the First Corps (Davout's) were noted for their good conduct and general intelligence. From an excellent quarter, a very good They were coming from the neighborhood, new family.” They were coming. Having trained them for a long time and well, the commander said, these soldiers could compete with the Guard.

Cool list) But I personally wouldn't put Marmont and Jourdan so high.

Finally someone recognises Turenne. Some of Louis XIV’s marshals were just as good, if not better, than Napoleons.

Why Massena?
He is not the the one who wins against impossible odds, of course that's davout
He is not the bravest, Oudinot and Ney are the bravest
He is not the one who commited least atrocities, that's Suchet.
He is not Flamboyant like Murat
He is there at no.1 because of his ability to command independently, this made him vital and Napoleon used this talent of Massena really well.

Moreau should be higher, he was the only commander considered on the level of Napoleon and was considered a rival before Napoleon banished him.
