I donāt think expectations for Macelli have at all been out of line. His role was reduced last year because of incoming new top 6 players and he was pushed into a role where he and his linemates heād previously succeeded with all couldnāt get their footing and perform. Thatās situational, somewhat coaching and somewhat on the player.
We have 2 previous seasons where was relied on in an offensive role and did very well, so itās very reasonable to think he can get back there especially so when heāll be surrounded with frankly significantly better players on either our first or second line.
I mean he put up like a 57 points as a sophomore with crouse and bjudstad 1 season ago. Upgrade those to Matthews/Knies or JT/Nylander. Itās not close.

I don't like that second line because it's way too soft. I'd rather see the below to balance the lines.
Knies - Matthews - Nylander
Maccelli - Tavares - Joshua
McMann - Roy - Domi
Lorentz - Kampf - Laughton
Robertson

Imo he goes with Knies and Matthews. Then domi with Willy and Jt giving each line at least one guy whoās willing to thrrow the body and stand up.

Sadly donāt see Robertson in the new leafs line up even though i think he deserves to play i just donāt see him fitting unless mcmann is moved to 2nd, domi to 3rd, Joshua to 4th and Robo takes right wing with Domi-Roy but joshua on 4th feels like a waste at his cap hitā¦ Kampf and Jarnkrok imo are both gone too. iād like to keep jarnkrok but Kampf shouldāve been traded last year.

People seem to forget that a power forward was what the coaching staff were looking for on that second line. Bobby and Patches were the main stays. I expect Chief to experiment with maybe Laughts, Mcmann, and Joshua more than I would expect Maccelli. I think Mattias will land on the first line or third line
