I am not sure about the case for googling things, For me it has helped me see the rational and argument based side of catholicism that I did not know existed as well as many other usages in life in general. I do however think short form content is definitely causing intellectual decay. The idea that someone watches said random video which last a maximum of 30 or so seconds, and most people keep pressing the next button in the space of a few seconds without actually seeing the content. Whereas long form content, you typically watch a good segment of the video if not all of it and look at a topic or video for a good duration which allows coherent understanding and less assumptions are made.

I disagree on the statement "letting the computers think for us" for my part in my experience computers has been really helpful in solving and feeding my ever growing curiosity while I may not take part in social media I think the main issue is in today society even in education they do not teach or exercise the natural curiosity and the want to share information by discussions etc instead we are told to memories this blank and to "just google it" instead of discussing and understanding the topics on hand(I am not saying this comment is absolute facts I am just adding to the conversation and sharing my beliefs and my opinion)

The internet isn't make us dumber.
It makes those that want to find information smarter.
The tinfoil haters even more stuck in there ways.
If anything the internet has made us smarter as a whole. No more need to go to the library to find an answer. It's in your pocket.
I find it hilarious that people that use social media to make a living. Go I a rant about it being bad.😂
