Bobybuilder friend of mine cut out all sugar and replaced it with Stevia and when preparing for competition he couldn’t get his lower abs to shed the last bit of fat until he eliminated the stevia also……maybe just his body chemistry but he swears the stevia was keeping his BF % from getting where he wanted.

I'd equate diet drinks to mock meats -- they're good for weening off the unwanted item (ie, regular soda/animal flesh), but they really shouldn't be an everyday part of your diet.

Is he sunburned, or maybe on a Liver King type of diet?

I don’t find that as a bad recommendation, anyway. I do have seen that sweeteners can alter gut micro biome. So it’s always best to avoid them. I do love your video and invitation to do research ❤

Did you actually spend time creating content to defend “diet” soda purely on its weight gaining characteristics? You cannot be remotely serious, can you?

I wager the lie that he is going on is that because artificial sweetners can trick the body into thinking sugar that your appetite gets ramped up so people eat more or more often.

But, even if that were true it still would be the person eating too many calories and not the beverage itself.

I bet that guy rambling on about artificial sweeteners is probably also on some sort of diet trend like Paleo or Keto.
