I thought these short retractable rods were a bit of a gimmick until I bought some. I now have 10ft'ers in 3 and 3.5 and much prefer them to my 12's. Ok, they can't cast as far, but they're a lot more convenient, cast more accurately and better fish control. I'm not the best caster but I can get 80yds with the 3.5's, which covers most of my fishing.

I have some 9ft 3.25lb Insurgents which I use for 80% of my fishing. I absolutely love them!

I snapped 2 3lb scopes castjng 3oz leads also snapped 3 dwarf rods an dwarf landing net. Moved over to esp quick draws an guess what they also snapped on the cast. Ive also had scope spod rod snap twice so ive binned off everything from nash now.....even my r3 alarms stopped working

Long chucks are not what these rods are about, yes one of the top casting tutors managed to hit over 100 mts with one, but in the main you'll be using these rods for tucking in the boot for impromptu trips and not for whanging it out a mile and a half... if you wanna do that, get 12 or 13 foot rods... My 9' 2.75lb Dwarfs are used on small to mid size club waters... great little rods, had carp to 27lb (great playing action)... but if you buy a 9' rod for distance casting, I think yer kinda missing the point... use a Dwarf/Scope for the purpose it was built for, smaller waters and to keep in the motor...
Tight lines...๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ˜Ž

2 rod lengths isn't insignificant. Although...I did improve my casting distance much more than that with a bit of practice and a change in technique. Nothing is ever simple, is it?
