It's important to look at metal for this, if I try to make a sword and never process out the impurities, you can still make a working sword. That's why I believe we have salt still, because carbon essentially is an impurity but if correctly used, you make a stronger sword. Atheists in general, tend to miss this meaning and unknowingly they leave a weak spot in their sword.
You have impurities in you, then you need morals, and all morals come from God.
Essentially what I'm saying is, you would still just be in "survival mode" if it weren't for God acting without showing his hand and then coming back to claim that because he loves you.

He said he “doesn’t have a good answer for that”. He knows the level of debate here is very high and so he is prefacing his points by acknowledging it’s pretty much impossible to defend “moral good”, when really drilled down on it, without the “good = god argument”. Which is not in line with your assertion that atheists can’t tell if murder is good or bad.

Theres this thing called Empathy.. the ability to idealize and understand what it means to be in someone else's shoes.. Evolution has given us this trait for survival, and it even causes chemical reactions in the brain that envoke emotion and feeling.. Empathy is what dictates what we view as right and wrong..
Its simple the more empathetically able someone is the higher their moral standards are.. the less empathetically able someone is and welll... You get what we call psychopaths and sociopaths...
Even if objectively there is no right or wrong i think we can all agree that empathy is a good trait to have for society's sake

Alex did not say there was no such thing as "good". He said that there are philosophical problems with trying to ground it in either a theistic or atheistic perspective. You just left out the part where he explains why your position fails philosophically as well.

Wow. Do you not think that humans are a social species? Being a social species , implies that behaviour has to benefit society. Therefore it is preferable to be alive and contribute to the welfare of society. Hence , murderous behaviour would be considered bad for society and frowned upon. Get real.

This is interesting in regards to philosophy but has no practical application to every day life . An atheist that believes that murder is wrong and a Christian who will definitely believe the same both work to ensure that murder is prevented and those who murder are brought to justice .. it doesn't matter what they believe about God they both agree that murder is wrong . Ok then so there's no problem.

Nonsense. Countless religions identify the same basic morality. Those behaviors emerge from the dynamics of societies, not from some magical text. The arrogance of religious people is astounding.
