I'm literally 7 hours north of y'all and my sheep won't step outside the barn! Nice sheet of ice on the pile of snow. No melting for over a week. No end this month, yet. So thankful for our hay we had cut and bailed on our own land this year! Even 10 acres worth was worth it.

This only works in mild climates. Where we live there is no option of no hay. Pasture is covered in ice and snow 3-4 months a year minimum

Okay well I'm about to inherit.. and I'm looking for property it's my first goal I want to be able to leave a good piece of land in a Republican state,,lol. I need to know what region I need to stay in where I can have goats and chickens add pigs range free.. I have a large family that will inherit this property.. it will need to hold a lot of animals, I want them grazing ,like you're teaching me. How many acres should I plan on buying?

Raise them up over the summer eat them in the fall or sell them. That’s how we did it for decades growing up. We breed to give birth in the spring fat them up to slaughter or carry to to sell in the fall . We did very good like that .
