You should print and test RC replacement parts. I bought a broken 2WD Traxxas Slash online for cheap then restored it with 3D printed parts. I printed a battery holder and drive shaft. The drive shaft held up for a few months. I was very surprised. I also restored a Tamiya grasshopper that I got for $15 with lots of 3D printed parts, I even printed upgrades for it. You can print so much stuff for RC.
