OK, yes Chaminade is overplayed but like. That's more of a compliment than anything else. This is literally the ONLY piece by a female composer that I can think of that is this mainstream and the fact that it managed to become one of the biggest staples in flute repitoire is such a huge accomplishment. Plus it manages to be one of the best pieces I have ever heard, and the fact that a woman composed a piece so amazing inspires me so much as a young composer

Chaminade will always have a place in my heart because it was one of the last things my teacher who passed was teaching me.

There all overplayed because there great pieces, I once heard the acclaimed English flautist the late Gareth Morris playing the Chaminade on his wooden flute, he was fluent on both open and closed G sharp flutes which at the time amazed me. Thanks for sharing this Katie.

I donāt care what anyone says, the Chaminade is one of the most beautiful pieces of music I have ever heard. There is a reason it is overplayed! I really donāt think I could ever get tired of hearing it. And Katieās playing of it is just superb.
