spiced hot chocolate:

ingredients:

- 1 cup whole milk
- 1 dried chili pepper, finely ground
- 2 tablespoons dark chocolate, chopped
- 1 teaspoon cocoa powder (for topping)

yield: 1 serving

instructions:

1. in a small saucepan, heat the milk over medium heat until it simmers gently.

2. add the finely ground dried chili pepper to the milk (if you don't have ground peppers - you can use whole spices and peppers into a tea bag and infuse in the milk). stir well to infuse the spice.

3. once the milk is infused with the pepper, add the chopped dark chocolate to the saucepan.

4. continue stirring until the chocolate is fully melted and the mixture is smooth.

5. pour the spiced hot chocolate into a mug.

6. if desired, top the hot chocolate with a sprinkle of cocoa powder for an extra layer of richness.

you only need three things for a fulfilling career.

if you're a young adult, navigating the world of your early career, it can seem overwhelming and confusing. for many years, i was searching for work that checked all the criteria i had supposedly set out - but it seemed that no such thing as a perfect job existed.

i worked in government, in corporate, in nonprofits, in research, in retail - and nothing seemed to click.

after doing some reading - i found an article that summarizes it well - you only need three things: joy, skill, and need. yes, it's much easier said than done, but if you can find work that overlaps with what you love, what you're good at, and what the world needs - it'll be fulfilling. it'll never be 100% joy, but if you can optimize the coexistence of all three, you'll find it's much more meaningful to you.
