I had one guy do this to me every time I tried answering his question and then he said can you just shut up. I was so shocked I just stopped talking and we had complete silence for a minute before he said “are you still there?” I said I shut up like you told me to and then he said I’m sorry but you weren’t listening. I said no I was you just wouldn’t let me answer and then he kept apologizing but I made sure it was the most awkward minute of his life.

Customer service employees are the people that stand between the big, powerful scam artist corporations and the people getting shafted. We’re on the same side here, people. The problem is that when the people reach out to complain about being abused, they get to talk to another victim. And then the fight is between the two victims. Once again, the corporations are laughing all the way to the bank, while we both feel the other victim is the abuser.

This reminds me of when I worked in insurance back in the day. People would sign up for these promotional plans and be told that they had to call and cancel it before the promotion ended so that they wouldn't be charged. Then when they didn't they'd get charged and then yell at me like I personally charged their credit cards.

This is why I always say NO to the "free" three month subscription, etc.
I once had a customer tell me to shut up until they told me to talk. I snapped my mouth shut and put the phone down on my desk. I then began working on another customer's job.
A couple of minuters later, I could still hear them screaming on the other end of the phone. When they finally stopped, I picked up the phone and waited. They finally said, "well, don't you have anything to say?" I replied, "I assume your question is intended to give me permission to speak?"
They started up again so I hung up.
