Please read the entire sentence carefully in the Quran … it talks about marriage to multiple women (up to four) for the sake of PROVING AND PROTECTING THE ORPHAN CHILDREN..And if you can’t treat them equally and fairly then stick to just one … the number of women refers to the number of families you as a man is willing to take responsibility for…. Not reading the whole sentence changes the message quite dramatically….. i hope this helps someone out there ❤

But if you are afraid you will fail to maintain justice, then ˹content yourselves with˺ one or those ˹bondwomen˺ in your possession. This way you are less likely to commit injustice.
