I found out he had passed by reading these comments. Man, I feel bad for that. I was in a deep dive into him just night before last. Saddens me greatly, but I know this man is in a wonderful place. Apologies on my ignorance even tho he died yesterday. Love you all and have a great weekend.

My uncle who is now 40 said tht he for not appreciate his mom ( my grandma) not giving him any boundaries as a teenager, she believed kids should never be punished or whipped, and she never did that to him and even gave him things to prepare for his rebellious years, like allowing him to sleep with girls in restrained, go party ect and he has said now tht he is older that she messed up doing tht and it caused him mental problems and life issues bc of her lack of discipline and boundaries

My dad gave me no guidence and I would say its needed especially during teenage yrs. Having to learn everything through trial and error sets u way back. Young men need mentors. Providing is great but it doesmt turn a boy to a good man.

Es interesante, se parece a la filosofía de la familia en mi país (Chile, Sudamérica), aunque mucho se a perdido de eso en estos años. Los padres son mentores y guias en el desarrollo de los niños, las reglas (normas familiares) y castigos son para enseñar valores y para que aprendan a vivir en comunidad. Solo después de aprender lo básico para ser un humano funcional tu familia te deja ser lo que tu deseas.

Blessed be my parents for their incomparable love and strong discipline they gave us both 🙏 I surely would have NEVER been able to face life’s MANY challenges were it not for how they raised me and the unshakable faith they always showed in facing their own terrible challenges, always hand-in-hand. What I went through would have brought me to the deepest depression with no return, but faith helped me to find that tiny light I could watch through and discipline allowed me tg take those tiny steps
