How and why is quite simple from my view: community. Fromsoft isn't constantly snubbing their community, they make complete experiences and move on. No major scandals, no atrocious microtransaction store, and no paywalling. Just exploration and challenge.

Ive been playing fromsoft games since my friend gave me demons souls for ps3 once said i would like the challenge and i even got my dad into the games and now me and my whole friend group still play these games whenever we get the chance
