I don't know if you're joking or not, but... People are being nice to her and giving a lot of affection to her to not hurt her feelings or to make her quit art, but yes. They shouldn't be over-affectionate because it may not make her improve art without them saying:
"It's horrible, but I guess you can improve art! I'm gonna give you advices."
