I've had this twice. I gave it more than a fair shot and I don't recommend it. The meatballs are a bit too greasy. I think it would end up being better if the ingredients were separated and cooked. Meatballs would benefit from searing then simmering in the sauce, and the roll and cheese could be baked together until crispy. It's very true that the way it's constructed and heated makes it too messy to handle. I would recommend the meatloaf or stuffed peppers over this.
