Great tip! We had been taught that if you wanted to remember something, you had to hear it 3 times.

Someone told me when I was young about remembering names: “if you make a point to remember, you probably will.” People are often impressed I remember their name. It isn’t even hard.

Oh that’s cool. When I was in Rehab, there were about 90 others just under 2 weeks.
I could nearly name all of them, including the old/new people getting cycled in.
I’d just find as many opportunities to say the persons name I just met, even if it came off slightly awkward.

Didn’t realize this was a legitimate method, it’s just worked for me, and ever since I’ve always tried to use it.

I love how he got just enough exposure to the cia to like it and completely not see all the vile shit that happens behind the curtains

best way to remember for long term is either by association but if you want to remember for ever, use your emotions.

Short term memory is short, but it has an extremely cool aspect. Short term memory is extremely vivid. The trick is evolving the vividness reliably into long term memory.

I used to memorize restaurant menus in a few days by reading it writing it speaking it and then all I needed was one time of using the information and it's stored in my memory and recallable any time I need it basically just seeing the menu would cause me to recall anything on it

It sets me off when people use my name repeatedly in a conversation. I feel like you're trying to take something from me.
