No, sugar manufacturers do not bleach sugar. Sucrose crystals are naturally white. During the refining process, sugar crystals are physically separated from impurities. Sugar is produced from cane or beet plants.

For years I tried to find a comparible replacement for sugar in my coffee and espresso but I couldn't find anything that didn't ruin the taste of it for me. Finally, a few years ago I tried pure maple syrup and BINGO! It's considerably more expensive, but to me it's the best.

I do like they did thousands of years ago, and chuck either dates or sultanas in some water for a day or two. Delicious, sweet and zero sweetners or anything. Legit just filtered water and organic sultanas
