Always play it safe. My vacation next month is with a friend I met at the airport yesterday. We’re off to see his uncle who’s a prince in Nigeria. He’s also very rich but needs help releasing the money.

I feel like you skipped a few chapters in the story. Not saying they are innocent or not, but you went from "friend dad invited us to the Congo" to "They find themselves in a group of armed men storming government buildings" I feel like a few things had to happen in between those situations, you don't just find yourself with a militia trying to realize a coup.

How irresponsible of that boys father. "Bring some friends." 18-20 year old boys are easily impressionable.... i feel anger, for the ignorance of those boys agreeing to go. But grief knowing they will die for a war that they had no business being apart of to begin with. A waste of their life

Most humans: accidentally forgetting their keys at home. āœ…

Americans: accidentally joining a coup to topple a sovereign nation. āœ…

Hi Johnny I’m from Congo. If you watch the video of the coup, they seem to know exactly what they went there to do. They were suppose to get help from neighbors country but it never arrived

How does one just ā€œFINDā€ themselves in the mist of armed men storming government buildingS…not A building, but buildings? Were they armed too? Did they go with the flow of ā€œstormingā€ the buildings with their fingers being pointed like a gun? Or did they go away from the actions because they didn’t want any parts of the takeover?

Im not surprised. Some young men are revved up and highly impressionable. And who knows what wonderful words of comfort and BS the father may have fed them. As a person who has been sucked into stupid things by friends, I can attest to this.

I feel so sorry for those young men. I hope international diplomacy helps them come back home. They're so young and don't deserve dying so young for something they didn't do. Prayers!
