I am 3 years clean off my psychiatric medication. Each day is a massive struggle to function, but I'd rather struggle to function and be ME than live on medication, making it easier to function, but going through each day a brainless zombie.
For those of you wondering, I was diagnosed with Stress and depression when I was 11, i was put on citelopram (stress), Risperdal (depression) and epilem (anger issues). In the first 2 years of my treatment my medication was constantly bounced around to what the doctors thought was right for me, we later on settled for those 3 plus another. Tablet for anxiety, i forgot the name.
When i was 18 i went in for testing and the discovered the dormant gene of BPD and that I had chronic stress and depression. They decided to change my medication again and I put my foot down after that and I decided no more. I'm turning 21 in 3 weeks time and am really proud of myself for pushing through despite the odds put against me.đ

I understand what the dr meant i personally believe that true mental illnesses are neurological. That being said he was full of manure when he said that you needed to be on these drugs or your condition would get worse . If he actually believed this then he should have ordered scans that way the treatment could be taylored to your recovery.

Some people donât need medication. Some people do. The good psychiatrist figures out which one you are.
All I can say is o feel like me again with my
Medications. Iâm not constantly wanting to jump off a bridge, but after a week or so without them, I get so horribly depressed and anxious that I canât leave my bedroom

Psychiatry is standing on the edge of a cliff and the pharmaceutical companies are pushing them over.
