I test drove a polo vivo gt in 2019 when i was looking for a budget daily (i use the word budget loosely ๐) . The motivation was that my brother had a VW polo 1.2 tsi and i drove it a few times.
My experience was they made everything look and feel cheaper from all angles than the tsi. So i walked away from VW that day disappointed. Its not as if it was under R180k which would have made it acceptable.
Now its R350k and somehow the geniuses at VW made it look even cheaper than the vivo of 2019.
These cars wont even pass legislation in other countries yet they are selling it to us for R350 000

Im sorry this thing is too expensive for what the equipment youre getting. People will still buy because they are mentally chained to VW but once you look at something else like a Dzire, Ciaz, Fronx, Jolion or Tiggo 4 Pro you have to honestly look ask yourself what is the point with sticking with the Vivo?

The new Suzuki Swift offers a lot more value for money in this segment.. vw prices are too high, especially with all the optional extras

Imagine. Cosmetic unnecessary updates and somehow it is better for me. Look, the least they could do is add parking sensonors at the front and rear. Not even a camera. Then add blind spot monitoring. Then upgrade those incandescent lights to atleast zenon lights and make them hight adjustable in cabin. Then add android auto wireless as standard so you don't have to use your phone screen for navigation when you have a touchscreen. Then make the headlights automatic with daytime running lights. Have follow me home lights. Add a light in the boot and cruise control is really nice on long trips. Then 6 airbags please and a standard service plan. All of this for 350k and we are talking. If you can make them come out standard with 16 or 17 inch wheels even better. And with the better sound. The one with 4 speakers. Lol, how do you offer an upgraded sound but then go from 4 speakers to 2?
