I used to work for Jerry Hathaway at SM World in Southern California. I am very familiar with the workings of DiRaVi. Once you learn how it works, it makes perfect sense and is not too terribly hard to maintain , however the hydraulic system requires special tooling to work on. We even had a few customers got installed turbocharged Porsche Flat-Sixes with Intercoolers in place of radiators in their DS. You have to install DiRaVi components from a CX to prevent torque steer.

Friends who had various CX models just loved this.... I never had a CX but I drove many, over many miles. It is a lovely system.
I never drove an SM and likely never will.
But in the sumptuous, spacious, effortless CX, this steering system was one more piece of spaceship technology that seemed to elevate it above other cars.... Aaah. Nostalgia.
