I have loved this ever since I first turned the "Hungry i" album, back in 1957..or 58(?). Bill Zorn does nicely holding up Bob Shane's vocal role, but I have to remark on George Grove's superior playing ability! What we once credited to Dave Guard, then to John Stewart, is amazingly complex. I can not get over George's musical skill. These guys carry the legacy with aplomb. The Kingston Trio - America's greatest popular music group, bar none!

I come back to this version of "Zombie Jamboree", sung by this Kingston Trio, for the sound and energy. Honestly, this is as much fun to hear as the original's.

Love these guys. Another very enjoyable version of this song was done by Rockapella in the 1990s.

The original Kingston Trio (Dave Guard, Nick Reynolds, and Bob Shane) made this version popular around 1958.  The tight harmonies, personalities, and guitars just made it an anthem of theirs for years.  The group you see here is employed by Bob Shane, who still owns the group name.  These guys are wonderful stand-ins for the original men, all but one of whom are now passed on.  George Grove is about as genuine a K3 member as we'll see again.  All these men are wonderful performers and worthy successors.

@alascerca Actually, George is only the longest CONTINUAL member. Bill Zorn has been the longest term member, albeit off and on. He, Roger Gambel and Bob Shane got together in 1973, and sang together for about 3 years. I'm not sure if at the time they were billing themselves as "The New Kingston Trio", which is the name Bob Shane used for a few years starting in 1970, or if they Bob had reverted back to "The Kingston Trio" at this point.

Exactly. Without any original members, what we have here is a pretty decent cover band, nothing more. I was listening to them in the early 60s and forward, when Nick, Bob and Dave were giggin'.
