Jeeva (Bobby Deol) falls in love with Kiran (Malaika Arora Khan) but due to their social differences, Kiran's father does not approve of their relationship. To punish Jeeva, Kiran's father frames his mother and two sisters for prostitution and gets them arrested, which leads to the three of them committing suicide. Kiran also kills herself, ashamed of what her father has done. Jeeva seeks revenge by killing Kiran's father and later becomes a dangerous assassin. He lives in an apartment next to the Bali family. Kiran Bali (Rani Mukerji) tries to befriend Jeeva, but he has no time for her. One day, while Kiran is out, some men break into the Bali apartment and kill her family. Only Kiran survives. Jeeva takes Kiran under his wing and trains her in handling weapons so she can claim revenge.
