Had a Garand and a Sharps, had to sell them both. I’m lucky enough to still have my paper cartridge Chiappa sharps. Temperamental but it’s accurate and fun.

I have the Pedersoli 1859 .54 Cal. paper cartridge. I make my own cartridges. She has been reworked at the breech by a famous gunsmith. One of the most enjoyable black powder rifles to shoot.

A piece of advice on a Sharps rifle is to always put the hammer on half cock before lowering the block in order to avoid causing serious damage to the firing pin. Also, Buffalo Arms carries adapters for full size Sharps rifles to be able to shoot .22 ammo.
But you are right on these guns as I have had the privilege of handling a Shiloh Sharps that my uncle (I think he was inspired by the film of Quigley Down Under) had them build in the late 1990's to early 2000's, and my god it was beyond spectacular. He went all out, but even their plain rifles are incredible and reflect what was used in the old West.
