if you live in the sticks, i understand a lever gun or something like that. someone hit a deer and it needs to be put down, grab your old marlin loaded with softpoints. see something off on your property while you're headed to the house, grab the marlin - it's way scarier, the high lumen flashlight mounted at the muzzle is way better than what you've got on your carry piece, and that LPVO's gonna help you scan from a distance.
other than that though? it's just about useless. it's just roleplay shit at any point past that.
