Speaking as a gunsmith and NRA Counselor, I don't recommend oiling barrels or bolts. A solvent is fine, but if you end up using oil, be sure to remove it with several dry patches.

To remove the bolt it has to be off safe for those who don’t know

I have savage mark ii but cleaning is much longer maybe 1 hour
I use carbon remove
Boretech rimfire
Oil
Only barrel keep clean with alcohol
I use Norma tac22 1.5 inch group all day long to 100 yrds
