A warning: DON'T use sanded grout for making roads on your model railroad, unless you plan to NEVER make any changes to it! We learned this the hard way - we had read that it was easier than cutting up pieces of craft foam or styrene, and more long-lasting than sheetrock mud or Spackle, so we made some pavements using the sanded grout. A couple of years later, we slightly changed the design of the cement plant in that area of pavement, and this video shows the demolition in progress. Not fun! Also, all of that banging is undoubtedly going to knock some wires loose under the railroad that were soldered thirty years ago, which will lead to yet-to-be-discovered electrical problems.

Other than that, go ahead and use it! Just don't say I didn't warn you! :)

This video was created during a work party on Burr Stewart's HO scale "Burrlington Northern" model train layout. For more information on the layout, and many videos of both real and model trains, see the rest of this channel ‪@muchfunwithtrains‬

You should get a real railroad spike and use it for this instead of that.
