Ich bin in Hamburg geboren und unsere Eltern sind mit uns Kindern oft am Sonntag Nachmittag zum Hafen gefahrenen, wenn in der Zeitung stand, dass "besondere" Schiffe erwartet wurden.
"Besonders" im Sinne von Größe, Typ, Entfernung zum Heimathafen, etc. Brim Einlaufen in den Hafen wurde jedes Mal die Hymne des Landes über Lautsprecher gespielt, unter deren Flagge das Schiff fuhr. Und dann kamen sie... die riesigen metallenen Schiffe... due Matrosen oben an der Reeling... zusammen mit der gespannten, freudigen Aufregung der Hafenbesucher, das Geschrei der Möwen, der typische Hafengeruch... als kleines Mädchen liebte ich es sehr! Große Flugzeugträger durfte man manchmal besichtigen - was für ein Abenteuer! Die Liebe und den Respekt zu Schiffen, dem Meer, anderen Ländern und Häfen ist mir bis heute (60+) geblieben. Danke Papa, für diese Sonntagsausflüge.
