Tbh, buy the silly mom things you think will help you. If you don’t use them, you’ll know for next time (or what to recommend to others). Just don’t feel pressured or anxious about not having what you need. Babies are surprisingly simple. They need food, diapers, love, a safe place to sleep, and enrichment. Babies don’t need the most expensive things—my son’s favorite toy is his pack of wipes—so don’t worry so much about what’s the best.

My brother and I sat on our Tripp Trapp chairs until we moved out. My niece now uses one of them at home and the other at our parents’ house. They last a lifetime and are iconic in Scandinavia.

The Stokke cot will last you 2 years at best. It’s way too small and juvenile for even the tiniest toddler!

As someone who sells baby gear. But products that are safe, it doesn’t always have to be the big names like stokke. Just check that it is actually safe (tested for babies etc, not Temu or Wish!!).

I think research first before buying stuff for the baby. I put alot of things on our registry without really researching and just put whatever stuff is suggested to me. I ended up wishing for a different version of the said item. For example, a steam sterilizer. I didnt know there were a "plus dryer" option. I bought a convertible crib but didnt use it at all. I sold it and just bought a playpen. She sleeps with us. And you dont have to buy the most expensive one.

All these items are very expensive! No need for these things. Babies are going to be just as happy in more affordable options.

They make cribs that transitions to a queen size bed. Last a whole lifetime.

The Stokke chair is good. It's expensive but a few of us chipped in for 2 different friends who was having a baby. The first friend loved it so we got the same chair for our other friend who's having a baby and the one of the year

We were too poor so we got a $45 portable pack and play pen. Took that sucker everywhere for 5 years! Best investment ever.

The moral of the story is, buy the most expensive baby products only.
