Hysterical!
I realized after watching Billi for a little while that I really missed cats!! We had cats while I was growing up, I had two of my own as a young adult. But then when I was dating my now ex husband, a dog literally walked into his trailer and helped himself to a couple pieces of Hawaiian pizza. No one claimed him, so we kept him. He was about a year. I found out he was a pit bull from the vet, and I did lots of research. This was back in the late 90's and discovered that pit bulls are, in general, hated. I did everything in my power to not let him be hated. He was the 1st Pet Certified Therapy Pit Bull in our state! We inherited our Chance, also a pit bull mix, and I fell head over heels for them. I thought I turned into a dog person. We had to separate the cats from the dogs because our boys just didn't like cats. When they (the cats) passed (at 20 & 17), I decided no more cats.
Then found Billi and, whelp, I have another pit bull, she's 11 and always got along with our former landlord's cat, so I took in a feral that had been TNR, but got an infection from surgery. The plan was to just let her heal, then release her. Then the rescue said she didn't build up her winter coat, and asked if I'd keep her till Spring. Of course I said yes, but this girl was the most terrified cat I have ever seen. She was absolutely depressed and terrified of being in the house and of me. It was breaking my heart, so I sought out a farm type home for her where she could be a barn cat (still be monitored, have food and vet care and shelters to go inside of when there was bad weather.) A wonderful man who has a goat farm inquired and she went to live with him. She's thriving!!! But before I rehomed her, I thought having another cat around her would help and since she had just had kittens before she was trapped, I was looking for a kitten.
I found a sweet 9 week old baby boy (brown tabby) and was chosen to adopt him. Our feral girl disliked him immensely. Now that she is rehomed, it's just my dog, my cat and me and I couldn't be happier!!!! He is such a special boy and I'm so excited to be his mom and have him with us!!! Best part, my dog likes him, so we're a family!!! So I'd like to thank you for sharing Billi with us!!!
