I went with my boss to a pheasant hunt that our lumber salesman organized all the bird's refused to fly even when i picked one up and threw it in jut hit the ground and stood there looking at me

what's crazy is I have a friend who makes at best 35k a year driving a forklift who spends 5000+ a year on a deer lease in Kentucky and 900+ on corn. I guess its just where you put your priorities.

You know, as someone thats never been hunting but wants to get into it eventually. I always thought it was about finding a good deer, shooting it, maybe tracking it if it runs far enough. Field dressing, getting it home, butchering it up, and getting a bunch of meat and maybe selling the hide or turning it to leather. Then I see videos where a guy just sits in a blind just far enough off a road to think they're in the woods and just waits for a deer to come and eat off the corn pile set out and wonder why these men do this. Do they want to HUNT or do they just want to kill something? Me personally I want to HUNT not just kill something. I don't have a desire to kill anything but I think having the skill to acquire food is very important and I want to be able to do the full process not just the first step which is pulling the trigger.

Professional hunting guide here… This is the best depiction of what my clients think guided hunts are like… They think the more they pay, the greater their odds of harvesting… As of I have any control whatsoever over what a wild animal does… 🙄
