Yup great bike. The history and the usefulness of the bicycle is so under appreciated. Over the years of all of us growing up they were are first experience of freedom via mobility.

I live in Anchorage Alaska. I had a 1972 Schwinn Varsity olive green. I loved that bicycle. The thing was a tank. It cost me 96 dollars. I couldn't believe how much money I spent on that thing. I was 14 years old at the time. I pedaled that thing everywhere. I think it must have weighed 45 lbs. All together that bike and I had a lot of fond memories.

10 & 5 speed. The 10 speed has 38 to 100 gear range, stem shifters and a chain wheel guard. The five speed has 39 to 89 gear range, GT-120 derailleur with handlebar ratchet shifter (new), and chain guard. 5 speed has 4 circle chain wheel. Both have oval head badges, painted fenders, painted tubular fork, side pull brakes, and 27 x1¼ tires. Name looks to be on down tube. COLORS were Lime, Chestnut, and Opaque Blue. Frame sizes; men’s 20", 22", 24", women’s (curved bar) 17", 19", 21". 👍

Gowning up in the 70's, I remember my buddy's parents had a his and hers Suburban bikes, I think theirs were a dark green, they seemed like very large bikes then👀🏡

Very nice schwinn suburban. I think Brown Eyed Girl by Van Morrison would have been a better song for this bike.

What a beautiful Suburban, great job on making her look like new, great period correct song "Bette Davis Eyes" is a song written and composed by Donna Weiss and Jackie DeShannon in 1974. It was recorded by DeShannon that year but made popular by Kim Carnes in 1981👍
