The Toronto Accent is real, and it has been developing in the Greater Toronto Area since the 1960s.

I’m from Toronto. No white people speak like that. I can tell you that.

The rapper Snow is from there. When he debuted in the 90s, everyone was very confused as to why the white rapper sounded Jamaican even though he says he's from Toronto in his single "Informer".

Nobody is claiming it doesn't exist just that it's inauthentic and put on forcibly in most cases.

By population, just Toronto would be the fifth largest province by population. The full GTA? Literally the third largest. The GTA beats the entirety of BC by over 1 million people. To say they have a distinct culture and dialect would probably be an understatement

Both my parents are from there and moved to a different province before having me. I have never seen them use these words in my life lol
Besides their accents from Ontario the weirdest thing they saw is probably “Torono” when referring to “Toronto.” Funny enough they passed the slight accent and way of speaking to my brother and I who live half way across the country from Ontario. Something I’ve noticed is we pronounce “Os” a bit more.

Forget the Toronto accent, what in the world is your speaking voice? Is that how you sound all the time?
