Well actually I would say from Experience as a PM from Fannie Mae.
If the contractor did something to cover it like in this case, Red Tape or a plastic cover and still an accident happens, then he is free.
But otherwise it is always the contract, you break it you pay it.

I owned a home inspection franchise for 20 years and the agreement drawn up by the legal department at corporate that all customers had to sign was four pages long. No signature - no inspection., do the inspection without a signed agreement meant no insurance coverage. What happened at that job you talk about wasn't your fault but it could have injured or even killed someone. Do you think they aren't going to sue you? Wise up, have your lawyer or insurance company or both read the agreement you use before you do another job.

This the same story I was just reading on the FB page?? Talking they gonna be down a month or so? It's very unfortunate but unfortunately there's some things you can't avoid. I would have done the same thing....something outside "suppose" to be able to get wet. I mean it's outside!! But things happen. Glad no one was hurt!!!!
