It's the people that owns the building. It's their responsibility to make sure it's maintenance is done right.

Keep us updated on who's found at fault. Regardless of who we all think is at fault I'm curious to hear how it plays out 🤞 hopefully it's on them

I think if you had in your T&Cs something like this you should be covered right? “The electrical services, doors, and windows on your property must be in good repair and watertight. Damages resulting from improper installation or maintenance are not our responsibility.”

Pretty curious to see how it shakes out. Neither insurance company will want to pay so both will play the blame game

What if it rained? Water could get in and cause the same damage

The electrician

Is this something you can put in terms of service? “We operate under the expectation that all external electrical sources are sealed to prevent water coming into contact with electricity”

I’d say the electrician who installed the power supply panel! He should have sealed it from the weather and any moisture that could get into the panel ✌️

The guy cleaning the building period. Well actually I would say from Experience as a PM from Fannie Mae. If the contractor did something to cover it like in this case, Red Tape or a plastic cover and still an accident happens, then he is free. But otherwise it is always the contract, you break it you pay it.

I owned a home inspection franchise for 20 years and the agreement drawn up by the legal department at corporate that all customers had to sign was four pages long. No signature - no inspection., do the inspection without a signed agreement meant no insurance coverage. What happened at that job you talk about wasn't your fault but it could have injured or even killed someone. Do you think they aren't going to sue you? Wise up, have your lawyer or insurance company or both read the agreement you use before you do another job.

This the same story I was just reading on the FB page?? Talking they gonna be down a month or so? It's very unfortunate but unfortunately there's some things you can't avoid. I would have done the same thing....something outside "suppose" to be able to get wet. I mean it's outside!! But things happen. Glad no one was hurt!!!!

The electrical needs to be up to the national electrical code. Open electrical boxes where water / weather can get into is a major problem. Not your problem buddy . You came to pressure wash not inspect electrical
