The gold brings a lot of questions, its an incredibly SOFT metal (on the cutting edge) These are more show pieces IMO, outside of the damascus chef knife(s). Having the gold on the edge makes it a cash loss (value) to sharpen over time by removing the gold from the blades cutting edge. It is very pretty, I hope these are sold as "Art" pieces and not functional knives. The pure damascus pieces look great though from a quick once over.
