Had a top end noise turned out the rocker arm/rocker arm pivot bolts just backed out a little over time wanted to take a video of what it would sound like if your rockers were making noise & it wasn’t piston slap or failed lifters loose flywheel bolts etc etc

You need a new oil pump there should be oil going everywhere without the valve cover on

No oil coming out of the rocker arms your oil pump might be bad going to be checking mine for oil at the rocker

You are dry on oil coming up from downstairs ti the rockers. Prob need to drop pan, swap oil pump, and backflush galleys with brakeclean to clear em up prior to reassembly

I bet you dollars to donuts if you take the rockers off, check down in the centre galley you will find them all worn out, it creates a gap that the lifters and pushrods cannot make up for, it will get worse as time goes on. Don’t forget you gotta use oil with more than 1000 ppm of Zinc. Regular shell Rotella NO LONGER CONTAINS ENOUGH AT 700ppm, same goes for all the Diesel Engine oils which are now formulated without enough zinc, Rotella T6 5w40 synthetic does however contain 1250ppm, Lucas Hotrod Non synthetic has an astounding 1750ppm and right smack in the middle and my favourite is Royal Purple HPS 1500ppm. But remember you will want to remove the catylitic converter(s) as the zinc and the reason why they removed the much needed zinc from all oil is it plugs them up. 4.0, flat tappet cams/lifters absolutely require Zinc. Just like the old Corvettes and many other pushrod engines.

Man I wanna do this to my Jeep but juss afraid to because I’ve never dug into the motor that deep I have the lifter noise or chatter as they call it I’d like to make it as quite as possible

Are those pushrods? Never knew the Jeep 4.0 was a pushrod. Can they get warped over time?
