The Card Which Cases the Most Infinite Loops - Pole Position

Pole Position has the effect to make it so whichever monster on the field has the highest atk is immune to spell card effects. Would you believe if I told you this simple effect is the cause for the most illegal infinite loops in the games history?

It's always the simplest-looking card that is the most convoluted

>go to locals
>play pole position
>cause an illegal loop
>call over judge
>pole position leaves the field
>loose the game
>leave

This card secret special effect is summoning a card from outside the deck called the judge that has 0 attack 0 defense but has the special effect to remove the owner of the card from the duel.

Alternative card effect:"Player would yell 'JUDGE!!!!!!!' whenever the card is activated"

A simple errata would be โ€œthe highest original ATKโ€. That way it stops them becoming immune to stat increasing effects and causing the infinite loop.

Imagine THAT in the anime, getting some judge entity to settle a dispute in a high-stakes situation.

This would totally be something I could see Joey doing and then shifting to throwing hands.

my favourite part of this is that judges are now a mechanic with the power to destroy any card causeing an infinite loop

It's weird that card was ever printed
Since it's infinite nonsense was always super easy to achieve

Man I love when cards case infinite loops. Good to know they are trying to find the culprits who commit these crimes

It also has the effect of being one of the most 80s cartoon theme ever

These infinite loops make me wonder if a card game could exist that actually makes use of infinite loops. In a scenario like this the ruling would be that both Gemini Elf and Stratos are immune to spells until Pole Position or the Field Spell are removed

I probably wouldn't implement the Pole Position loop in this game due to the complexity of the game state required, but basing a game around building Infinite loops and then using those loops to do things could be a cool gameplay theme.

I had this card in a 360-card draft cube I made with my friends. 'Duelist A' activated Mage Power. 'Duelist B' chained Pole Position. Chaos ensued.

Red-Eyes Flare Metal Dragon is funny because it can cause loops, but not infinite loops because of the burn damage, so you can just loop your opponent until they lose.

I'd assume if a judge is called and just glances at the table with Pole Position on it would simply say, "Send Pole Position to GY" before even needing an explanation.

A fun one is summoning Jinzo, equipping it with Amplify, and then playing Pole Position. Jinzo prevents traps from being activated and negates all trap effects on the field, Amplify makes it so Jinzo only prevents your opponent from activating traps and negates only opponent's traps, with this being where the loop comes in, since now your Pole Position comes into play, making Jinzo unaffected by Amplify, which he then negates Pole Position due to now having his original effect of negating all trap effects on the field, making it so Amplify is allowed to affect Jinzo again, so Pole Position has its effects unnegated because of Jinzo having the amplify effect due to it now able to affect Jinzo again, making it so he's unaffected by Amplify, which negates Pole Position, which then...
