I can hear when there is silver in change. "Silver Bells" is a song for a reason. Used to empty and refill my Grandpa's Pepsi machines with him in the 1970s. Take the coins home and pull all the silver, many Franklin's and quarters, dimes, and even a few CC silver dollars. 15yrs back he passed and left me rolls and rolls of silver, and a few graded Franklin's and 3 Graded CC Dollars, and to top it off, 10 1oz Kruegers. This was 15 yrs ago and Silver hit a peak, I sold forn6 figures including $3600, $3000, and $1800 for the CC Dollars. And Shaker Coin in Woodmere, OH pays the current listed gold price for Kruegers. Well, he bought the silver, so maybe I got a deal selling the Kruegers to him, but I am pretty sure he pays current gold price for them, all the time. Probably Liberties too.

I scored a 1943 war nickel and a few Susan B. Anthony coins recently in change. It's a great day when you find things like that in your change.

Sometimes it pays to use cash and get back some change - I was given a 1964 Quarter at a Capt’ n D’s seafood restaurant and it made my day! πŸ‘

My friend said look at this. He got a weird looking quarter out of the vending machine. I looked at it and it was an Indiana Quarter 90% silver proof. All scratched up. Someone raided there proof sets for a Coke I guess.

Pocket coins are great, I carry a couple silver dollars everywhere I go. Also I just got a '43 steel cent from a canadian bank. Never found one in change in the states or in rolls.

My found story. Late 1980's was at the Marine Corps Air Ground Combat Center 29 Palms CA. It was just getting dusk and I was on a hilltop, observing one of our exercises Battalions conducting a live fire assault on a pass. I looked down and found a 1957 Washington Quarter. My birth year. The base is 900 square miles of desert and mountain training area. You can find all kinds of shrapnel, m-1 garand ammo clips, expended cartridges etc... all over the place , but a silver quarter?, no way! Unfortunately it was stolen when my house was broken into.

I always search through the cash drawer when I'm scheduled as a cashier at my place of employment. Every so often I find a silver Jefferson nickel in a nickel roll. Sometimes I find a silver quarter. but that's on rare occasions. have yet to find a silver dime.

I got two stories...thank God.
Once in 2001 in the cash register in Pennsylvania I got an 1876 Seated Liberty dime from some Amish kids sneaking into the store to buy candy.
Next year, 2002, while bartending in California I broke open a roll of quarters and heard the distinctive sound of silver. The whole roll was Standing Liberties! Instant boner. Gave a $10 bill from the tip jar for that roll. Ahhh, memories
